Our Commitment to Safety For All
Due to concerns regarding how, as a community, we are experiencing a time in the larger cultural conversation where hate speech, microaggressions, and violence make up a common subtext in how to determine the path forward, we the staff, participants and policy makers of CCMH would like to take this time to unequivocally reaffirm our commitment to being an environment where the rights and safety of our most marginalized and vulnerable members are protected.
As an agency, we choose to rely on the strength inherent in rejecting all forms of violence. CCMH is and will continue to be an agency with no tolerance for discrimination, racism, sexism, anti-queer, and anti-trans speech. We encourage staff to build community together based on our combined mission, vision, and values and to lean into our common skills for fostering hope and safety.
Every day for the last 49 years CCMH has fostered hope and emotional, mental and physical safety for disenfranchised members of our community. Tomorrow we will do the same. It is important to acknowledge that we have both staff and clients who are marginalized and vulnerable and that we fulfill our mission when we all use accountability and integrity to create a safe and supportive environment for healing and recovery.
You are important here. You are seen here. You are a part of our path forward together.
