CCMH partnered with Footprints, to bring ABA services to families in Columbia County. ABA provides evidence -based treatment services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Services can be offered in the child’s home and in the community, depending on the needs of the child. ABA strives to increase desired behaviors and decrease challenging behaviors through the use of positive behavior supports.
Behavior Interventionist are assigned to every enrolled child to facilitate their specialized program. Each interventionist is guided and supervised by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Interventionists implement programs that are designed to enhance the lives of each client. Programs are implemented in a variety of ways to facilitate communication, build social skills, decrease problematic or interfering behaviors and replace them with skills built for success.
Los métodos de comportamiento pueden incluir:
• Natural Environment Training (client- led play, community outings)• Discrete Trial Training
• Pivotal Response Training
Determinación de la admisibilidad a los servicios
Applicants will have an established DSM-V diagnosis of ASD that includes observational methods conducted by the child’s developmental pediatrician, a psychiatrist, or a psychologist. Once a referral is complete and a prior authorization has been received by the ABA program from insurance, our staff will assist in the preparation of a treatment plan and parent training.
